Our styles seemed to blend extremely well: his beats complimenting my voice and my voice/lyrics giving his beats a special flare. He was open to the idea and said: “let’s do it!” So, we put together a makeshift music studio, with the equipment we both had, and began to record. After listening to a couple of his beats, an idea popped into my head: “what if we put our talents together?” I suggested to him that we try doing one recording session and see how it goes. That all changed when my cousin, Trism, started producing music/beats of his own. I was left with my lyrics and no music to put them to. However, although I tried many times to learn how to play the guitar and the piano, I was never able to catch on. So, I guess you could call it poetry, but, in my mind, it always had a beat behind it. I began to write full songs with no music. As I grew older, I continued to be fascinated with lyrics and the art of lyric writing. It was so catchy that it caught on between family and friends and is still sung around my house today. One of the first was actually about Tecate beer, which I saw my parents drinking one day and decided to make a tune for. I remember, as a kid, I would write catchy jingles for random companies and perform them for my family. My love for music and music making began at an early age. Orlando, please share your story with us. In my opinion it has a nice tone.Today we’d like to introduce you to Orlando Mendez. Condition: Used, Condition: Nice condition with a few scratches on the back. Please look at the pictures and email me with any questions and I will try to answer as best I can. in the picture of the back there looks like a dark spot - that is a reflection. Please understand this is a 40 year old guitar from the info on the internet. I am a trumpet player not a guitar player so I am trying to describe it as best I can. Comes with padded gig bag and an extra set of strings and I put a new set of LaBella strings on it as well. It has the traditional neck width at 2' and is 39 inches long overall and at the widest part of the body is 15 inches and is 3 3/4' in depth. I think it has a very nice, rich tone, in my opinion. After looking at other Orlando guitars on Ebay, it appears to be an upgraded model. I believe it is from the mid 70's and was made in Japan. It has a few scratches on the back from use that look to me to be just in the lacquer. There does not appear to be any fret wear, and the fret sides are smooth to touch on the neck. The top appears to be a solid top and it has a darker color than spruce tops but I don't know what kind of wood it is.
